New Mafinga Health and Allied Sciences Institute (NEMAHAI) is a registered health training institution based in Mafinga, Iringa Region. We train competent, compassionate health and allied professionals who go on to serve hospitals, clinics and communities across the country.

Trains caring, competent nurse–midwives who deliver safe nursing and maternity care across hospitals, health centres, dispensaries and communities. Classroom theory is combined with extensive skills-lab practice and supervised clinical placements, so graduates are ready to work from day one.
Enrolled / Registered Nurse and midwife in hospitals, health centres, dispensaries and MCH/RCH clinics, plus NGO and community health roles. Graduates can progress to a Bachelor of Nursing.
Prepares pharmaceutical technicians who dispense, compound and manage medicines safely and advise patients on correct use — in hospital pharmacies, community pharmacies, accredited drug outlets (ADDOs) and the medicines supply chain.
Pharmaceutical Technician / dispenser in hospital and community pharmacies and ADDOs, the medicines supply chain (e.g. MSD), and the pharmaceutical industry. Graduates can progress to a Bachelor of Pharmacy.
Develops social welfare professionals who support individuals, families and communities — protecting children, providing counselling, and connecting vulnerable people to services and development programmes across government and NGOs.
Social Welfare Officer, community development officer, child-protection / probation officer, NGO and CBO programme officer, and medical / hospital social worker. Graduates can progress to a Bachelor of Social Work.
Trains nutrition professionals who assess nutritional status and design therapeutic and community diets to prevent and treat malnutrition and diet-related disease — in hospital wards, MCH clinics and community nutrition programmes.
Nutrition Officer / dietetic technician in hospitals and clinics, community nutrition and MCH programmes, NGOs and the food & wellness sector. Graduates can progress to a BSc in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics.
Continuous assessment (CA) and end-of-semester results are published each semester through the department office and the campus notice board. Enrolled students and staff can request access or a result query — message our office with your registration number and we will assist.
NEMAHAI programmes follow the Ministry of Health (MoHCDGEC) NTA curricula and are accredited by NACTVET. On graduation, students register with the relevant professional council:
